A Letter From James Cale Shelton

My name is James Cale Shelton, and I own Top Notch Property Management in Lewisburg. I started the company eight years ago with the goal of building a tree service that people in Marshall County could rely on.

Depending on the job, you may find me meeting with a customer, running equipment, managing the crew, or working in the tree myself. I’ve always believed that owning a tree company means being involved in the work, not just managing it from an office.

How We Got Here

Top Notch has been serving Lewisburg and the surrounding areas for eight years. During that time, we’ve handled everything from routine tree trimming and removals to large hazardous trees and storm-damaged properties.

Our crew brings more than 70 years of combined experience to the work. That experience matters because no two properties are the same. Access, tree condition, surrounding structures, weather, and the condition of the ground all affect how a job needs to be done.

We Take the Work Seriously

Tree work is not something we believe in rushing through. The way a tree is cut, the equipment used, and how the property is protected all matter.

Our approach is simple:

  • Do the job safely.
  • Use the right equipment for the work.
  • Protect the customer’s property.
  • Communicate clearly about the job and the price.
  • Clean up properly when the work is finished.
  • Stand behind the work we do.

We’re not interested in doing something just because it’s the fastest or cheapest way to get it done. We want the finished job to hold up and look right.
